Welcome, 2011

In Touch in the New Year

Draw me close to You
Never let me go
I lay it all down again
To hear You say that I'm Your friend

You are my desire
No one else will do
'Cause nothing else could take Your place
To feel the warmth of Your embrace
Help me find the way
Bring me back to You

You're all I want
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want
Help me know You are near http://artists.letssingit.com/hillsong

At the dawning of this New Year, as we set our priorities, may we focus on our relationship with God through Christ Jesus our Lord by the power of the Holy Spirit.
This resetting bears Good News. No matter what we face in 2011,
as Paul reminds us, we do not face it alone:

If God is for us, who is against us? Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31, 35, 37-9

What is the one thing we can control? The amount of energy and time we put into our God-relationship. We know God is ever-present, but also, at times, easily ignored. We do ourselves no favors by ignoring or not fostering that relationship. Do whatever it takes for you to DRAW CLOSER. Mark through time on your calendar for God, so you won’t give away that time to other things. Find a comfy couch or a place outside that you can draw closer. Meditate on the above Scripture passage and song. Look for more passages that deepen your relationship with God, that make you think, that make you go deeper still.

I wish for you a Beautiful New Year and, as my son used to say, a Happy New You!

Love in the One who loves without ceasing,
Lucia
