A Word from the Pastor

CHRIST IS RISEN, HE IS RISEN, INDEED!

As we witness to God’s miracle of Resurrection, we respond with praise, praise, and more praise. This last great Psalm speaks of how we can do just that:
Psalm 150

1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty firmament! 2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his surpassing greatness! 3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! 4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! 5 Praise him with clanging cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that breathes praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!

As we celebrate Easter, not just today, but everyday as new persons in Christ, we praise God for loving and forgiving us. Amid reports of violence and destruction, hope continues to rise from the rubble: a bud becomes a bloom, a phone call brightens our day, an unexpected visitor renews and refreshes, laughter happens, worship glorifies, and a prayer is answered.
The writer of Hebrews knew that Christ’s love is not simply for eternity’s sake, but for today:

Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end. As it is said, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Heb. 3:12-15; 13:8)
Amid the rubble, hope springs eternal! Praise God!
Happy Easter, everyday!
Love,
Lucia
